Montréal Ecstasy is a serious roleplay server. Your goal is to create believable scenes, respect other players, and accept realistic consequences. Staff may use discretion to protect RP quality.
1) Definitions (you must know these)
- IC = In Character. OOC = Out of Character.
- Metagaming: using OOC info in IC (Discord, streams, DMs, outside comms, map calls, etc.).
- Powergaming: forcing outcomes / unrealistic actions / abusing mechanics so others cannot respond.
- FailRP: breaking realism, acting like GTA Online, ignoring consequences, or scene-killing behavior.
- RDM: Random Deathmatch — attacking/killing without valid RP initiation and context.
- VDM: Vehicle Deathmatch — using vehicles as weapons against players without valid RP.
- FearRP / NVL: No Value for Life — acting fearless/suicidal when a real person would fear death.
- NLR: New Life Rule — after a “death”/full down, you do not return to continue that conflict and you forget key details.
- Combat logging: disconnecting/AFKing to avoid RP consequences (arrest, robbery, loss, etc.).
2) Respect & conduct
Player behavior
- No harassment, hate speech, discrimination, threats, or doxxing (IC or OOC).
- No griefing, trolling, or intentionally ruining scenes.
- Follow staff instructions in the moment, appeal later on Discord if needed.
Character standards
- Realistic character name (no memes/troll names).
- Functional mic required for RP.
- No “suicidal / self-destructive RP” used to dodge consequences.
3) IC/OOC rules
- No OOC talk in IC voice (ex: “it’s a bug/script”, “I’m lagging so I win”, “I’ll report you”).
- No using game terms in-character (inventory, UI, “press E”, “server restart”, etc.).
- If something breaks, keep it realistic and handle it after the scene with staff.
4) RP quality (FailRP / NITRP)
- Do not treat the server like a deathmatch or “win simulator.” The goal is story and believable outcomes.
- No nonsense movement to gain advantage (spam-crouch, unrealistic zig-zag, bunny hopping in gunfights, etc.).
- No forcing actions with emotes/text. Your RP must allow the other side to respond.
5) Initiation & escalation
- You must create RP before violence (verbal interaction, demands, context, escalation).
- A countdown (3…2…1…) does not replace RP. You must allow a reasonable chance to comply.
- Escalation must make sense: talk → threaten → act (when justified).
6) Violence & weapons (RDM/VDM)
- RDM/VDM is forbidden. Violence must be justified with serious RP and a clear reason.
- No “finish” / execution spam once the scene is already won, unless the situation is heavy and believable.
- No “instant headshot then leave” style. If you start something, you must play the scene out.
- No shooting from safe zones to bait chaos (PD/hospital/public hubs are not arenas).
7) Value of life (FearRP / NVL)
- If you are outnumbered, held at gunpoint, or clearly disadvantaged, you must value your life.
- No “hero moments” like drawing a weapon when multiple guns are already on you.
- After major crashes, falls, or explosions, you must roleplay injuries appropriately.
8) Death, medical & NLR
- If your character is fully “dead/downed,” you must not return to continue that same conflict.
- You forget key details that would create revenge/meta (who exactly, where exactly, how exactly).
- No returning to loot your body or “get back in the fight” unless staff explicitly allows it.
9) Criminal groups & gangs
- Max active criminals in one scene: 6 people (robberies/ambushes/active conflict).
- Gang roster cap: 10 members per gang/organization.
- Gang wars: no more than 6 vs 6 in a single scene; separate scenes must still be reasonable.
- No OOC coordination for gang activity (private DMs/Discord used to gain IC advantage is metagaming).
(These limits follow common serious RP standards and are consistent with what’s publicly listed on major RP communities.)
10) Police / EMS scenes
- Do not interfere with active PD/EMS scenes if you are not part of them.
- No “baiting” police/EMS just to force a shootout.
- Hospital is a protected roleplay environment. No chaos or free violence.
- If cuffed/under control: no glitch abuse to escape.
11) Hostage rules
- Hostages must be used for RP leverage (negotiation/escape), not random grief.
- You must provide a reasonable chance to negotiate. No “instant execute for fun.”
- Hostages who comply should not be punished without a believable reason.
12) Robberies & crime standards
- Robberies must be roleplayed (planning, demands, negotiation, believable escape).
- No back-to-back spam robberies just to farm money. Use common sense and server cooldowns.
- No “reset abuse” (disconnecting to avoid arrest/robbery loss = combat logging).
- No third-party jumping into an active robbery unless you are logically involved and it makes sense.
13) Vehicle rules
- VDM is forbidden. Vehicles are not weapons.
- City driving must be believable. No unrealistic stunts without context.
- No high-speed ramming intended to instantly end a scene.
14) Cheats / mods / macros / exploits
- Cheats/menus = permanent ban.
- No macros/binds that give combat or mechanical advantage.
- No exploiting bugs for profit or advantage. Report it to staff.
15) Discord / streaming / metagaming
- No using Discord/DMs/streams to gain IC info.
- Stream sniping/ghosting is forbidden.
- If you stream, protect your RP (streamer mode/delay if needed).
16) Sanctions
Sanctions depend on severity and repeat behavior: warning → kick → admin jail → temp ban → permanent ban. Staff may void/rollback a scene if a major rule break destroys RP.
If you tell me what crime scripts you run (banks, fleeca, jewelry, drugs, boosting, etc.), I’ll add even stricter “scenario rules” (negotiation standards, chase rules, hostage limits per heist type, and escalation requirements).
